 INTRODUCTION  Syllabus is the core of the curriculum that outlines of the content to be taught in a class for a period of study. It is a specific, systematic and hierarchy ordered arrangement of the content learned during the course of study. Syllabus functions as a support system and guides the teacher, to organise and complete the instructional process in stipulated time. OBJECTIVES  A syllabus framed should be useful in realising the aims and objectives of teaching science. It should be related to the natural interest and objectives of children at various stages of their development. Topics must be selected as far as possible from pupils environment. The syllabus should be broad and comprehensive enough to provide pupils an understanding of science as a whole. The content chosen should be in accordance with the learning capacity of the pupils.  The syllabus should be flexible and should allow the teacher to make slight alterations.
